Muller: None better than Bayern

Bayern Munich Thomas Muller said he has no intention of leaving the Bundesliga club anytime soon.

The Germany international has made over 170 official appearances for the Allianz Arena side since making his official debut in August 2008, winning a Bundesliga title and DFB Pokal trophy in the process, as well as reaching two Champions League finals.

There s no club out there that is really a step up when you play for Bayern Munich. At most, you can join a club that acts at the same level, Muller told Spox.

When you play for Bayern Munich and you are important for the team, there s no better club out there. The circumstances here are extremely good.

We challenge for top honours internationally, are a top team domestically and I am feeling very well here…

PSV crowned Eredivise champions for the first time in six years

PSV secured the Eredivisie title for the 25th time in the club’s history with a 4-2 win over Sparta Rotterdam on Sunday, ending a six-year wait for a title.

They needed just one point to make sure of top spot with two games to spare, with this victory moving them 12 points clear of Arne Slot’s Feyenoord in second.

Peter Bosz’s side have enjoyed a dominant campaign, scoring an impressive 107 goals, and conceding just 19 on their way to the title.

PSV had to come from behind after Metinho’s early goal for Rotterdam but fought back through Said Bakari and Johan Bakayoko’s own goal.

Despite being pegged back by an own goal by Olivier Boscagli, PSV rallied in the second half, with the defender atoning for his error before Jordan Teze made sure of the…

Blatter camp positive after FIFA ethics hearing

Suspended FIFA president Sepp Blatter s camp was in a buoyant mood after facing the FIFA ethics committee on Thursday.

The governing body has been reeling for months as it faces allegations of corruption.

However, Blatter s lawyer was positive of a good outcome for the 79-year-old Swiss, who was suspended from all football activity on October 8.

The investigation should be closed and the suspension lifted, he said in a statement.

The hearing lasted nearly eight hours and centred on the investigation of a $2million payment to UEFA chief Michel Platini in 2011.

Blatter and Platini were suspended from all football activity on October 8 pending a full investigation into their conduct.

Blatter received strong backing from Russian president Vla…

FIFA president Blatter facing suspension, claims advisor

FIFA president Sepp Blatter is facing a potential 90-day suspension after the world governing body s Ethics Committee recommended the sanction, an advisor to the Swiss has claimed.

Klaus Stohlker has said that the 79-year-old could be removed from his duties, if formal approval is given by the adjudicatory arm of FIFA, which is headed by Hans-Joachim Eckert.

FIFA s Ethics Committee has reportedly been meeting this week in light of the criminal proceedings opened against Blatter by the Office of the Attorney General of Switzerland (OAG) last month.

Blatter is suspected of signing an unfavourable contract with the Caribbean Football Union (CFU), then led by former FIFA heavyweight Jack Warner, in 2005 that market experts claim handed World Cup televisi…

Leicester City s Riyad Mahrez has revealed his future is undecided at the moment, according to Sky Sports journalist .

He has been linked with leaving the King Power Stadium ever since. Barcelona, Arsenal and Liverpool have all been continuously linked with Mahrez, but the strongest interest came in January this year from Manchester City.

The Algeria international has now revealed he had submitted his transfer request at the time because a significant offer came from the Etihad. However, he says the request has been withdrawn since.

Sanchez hails legendary Wenger ahead of Arsenal exit

Manchester United star Alexis Sanchez revealed he contacted Arsene Wenger to congratulate the long-serving Frenchman as he prepares to leave Arsenal.

Wenger s 22-year reign at Arsenal will conclude at the end of the season, following three Premier League titles and seven FA Cup crowns.

Chile international Sanchez left Arsenal in January, having been lured to the Emirates Stadium from LaLiga giants Barcelona by Wenger in 2014.

And Sanchez paid tribute to his former manager after scoring in United s 2-1 win over Tottenham in Saturday s FA Cup semi-final.

I have already written to him, not on social media but I wrote to him personally, I sent him my congratulations and he thanked me, Sanchez said.

It s sad because he is a football legend, a gentlem…

We need a break – Mbappe and Lewandowski not in favour of biennial World Cup

Kylian Mbappe and Robert Lewandowski have expressed concerns about the lack of rest players will get if plans for a biennial World Cup come to fruition.

FIFA s proposal to host the tournament every two years instead of four has largely been met with scepticism.

Both Paris Saint-Germain forward Mbappe and Bayern Munich striker Lewandowski are not in favour of the change, with the former suggesting that the quality of the spectacle would suffer if the health of players is not taken into account.

We like to play but it s too much, Mbappe said in Dubai, where he was named men s player of the year at the Globe Soccer Awards.  If people want to see quality, we have to take a break.

Playing the World Cup every two years would make this competition normal…

Bitesize Prediction: Stockport County vs Charlton Athletic – 07/12/22

Market: Over 1.5 goals

Odds: 2/5 @

Two sides who will be desperate to extend on their FA Cup adventure on Wednesday night, Stockport will welcome Charlton to Edgeley Park.

Starting with the hosts, putting in a thumping display over the weekend as they breezed their way to a stellar 5-0 romp away at Hartlepool, Stockport should find the mood in their camp at a real high. Snatching a last-gasp 2-2 draw when they made the trip to the Valley on November 26th, Dave Challinor s men should be smelling the chance to pick up an FA Cup scalp on Wednesday night. Although the Hatters might have suffered a 2-1 loss at the hands of Leyton Orient last month, Stockport have proven that was just a minor blip. On a run that is highlighted by a 4-0 victory against Swindon last mon…

Hat-trick hero Son Heung-min leads Tottenham to win over Burnley

Son Heung-min scored a hat-trick as Tottenham came from behind to beat Burnley 5-2 at Turf Moor and leave Vincent Kompany’s side pointless after three home games back in the Premier League.

Son cancelled out Lyle Foster’s early opener in the 16th minute and then, after goals from Cristian Romero and James Maddison had put Tottenham in control, he scored two in the space of four minutes just after the hour as Spurs made it 10 points from Ange Postecoglou’s first four league games in charge.

Spurs have boosted their attacking options with Friday’s signing of Brennan Johnson, not registered in time to make his debut here, but Son will carry much of the scoring burden after Harry Kane’s exit and his first goals since April will add to the sense of optimism amongst …

The 24 year old has signed a four year contract with the Championship club, and will move to the Madjeski Stadium subject to international clearance.

Williams made forty-five appearances for Hoffernheim since moving from Freiburg in 2011, scoring his only goal in a 3-1 win over Hannover 96 last September.

He has also been capped 12 times for the United States, and is expected to feature in next summer’s World Cup in Brazil.

He becomes Nigel Adkins’ third signing of the summer, following the arrivals of Dutch midfielder Royston Drenthe and former England international left-back Wayne Bridge, and will become the third USA international to…
