Jamie Vardy has agreed a new contract with Leicester City, according to Sky Sports.
Having gone through the youth ranks at Sheffield Wednesday and Stocksbridge Park Steels, Vardy passed through Halifax Town and Fleetwood Town before arriving at Leicester in the summer of 2012. Since then, he has played a total of 310 games for the Foxes in all competitions, scoring 130 goals and laying on 69 assists along the way. He was without a doubt one of the greatest contributors of the team that shook the football world to its foundations by winning the Premier League in 2015/16, along with the likes of Riyad Mahrez and N Golo Kante. His fine performances also earned him 26 caps for England, who got seven goals from him in return.
Leicester have now decided to reward the 33-year-old striker for his exploits with a new contract, set to significantly increase his wages and extend his stay at the King Power Stadium until 2023 a year longer than was put in his current deal.
