Jamie Vardy says a little half-time chat inspired Leicester City to earn a draw against Tottenham after he felt they showed the visitors too much respect in the first half.

The veteran striker, 37, netted a second-half equaliser as Premier League new boys Leicester earned a 1-1 draw at the King Power Stadium on Monday.

Leicester were completely outclassed in a first half in which Spurs were unlucky to only have Pedro Porro s header to show for their efforts.

But Vardy s goal changed the momentum and earned last season s Championship victors a point in Steve Cooper s first game in charge.

According to a recent report from Corriere dello Sport, Napoli are interested in signing Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira in addition to AC Milan defender Ricardo Rodriguez. 

Napoli recently changed things up in regards to their management structure, and now that the new regime is in place, they want to start piecing together a few important transfers in time for the January transfer window.

Goals from Weston McKennie and Christian Pulisic sent USA through to Sunday s decider following a weather-interrupted semi-final in Nashville.

Brendan Rodgers has declared striker Jamie Vardy fit for Leicester City s Boxing Day clash with Manchester United.

Vardy was substituted late on in Sunday s 2-0 win over Tottenham as Leicester climbed to second in the Premier League, a point above United having played a game more.

He netted from the penalty spot at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to make Premier League history, becoming the first player to score away to an opponent at three different grounds following previous goals at White Hart Lane and Wembley Stadium.

It took the 33-year-old s tally for the season to 11 goals in 13 outings, placing him behind only Mohamed Salah in the Premier League scoring charts the Liverpool forward scoring 13 times in the same number of appearances.

Manchester City left-back Angelino has been loaned to Bundesliga leaders RB Leipzig until the end of the campaign.

The 23-year-old has been limited to just four Premier League starts since re-joining City in July following a season with Eredivisie side PSV.

He has not featured at all in the league since a 2-1 loss to Manchester United on December 7, being restricted to three cup appearances since then.

Leipzig confirmed on Friday the defender will spend the remainder of 2019-20 at the Red Bull Arena, and it has been reported they have an option to make the move permanent for €30million (£25m).
