Goals from Weston McKennie and Christian Pulisic sent USA through to Sunday s decider following a weather-interrupted semi-final in Nashville.

After McKennie s early opener, Wednesday s game was stopped for one-and-a-half hours due to lightning, but USA were not to be denied when the clash resumed in the 16th minute, with Pulisic doubling the lead seven minutes into the second half.

Brendan Rodgers has declared striker Jamie Vardy fit for Leicester City s Boxing Day clash with Manchester United.

Vardy was substituted late on in Sunday s 2-0 win over Tottenham as Leicester climbed to second in the Premier League, a point above United having played a game more.

He netted from the penalty spot at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to make Premier League history, becoming the first player to score away to an opponent at three different grounds following previous goals at White Hart Lane and Wembley Stadium.

Manchester City left-back Angelino has been loaned to Bundesliga leaders RB Leipzig until the end of the campaign.

The 23-year-old has been limited to just four Premier League starts since re-joining City in July following a season with Eredivisie side PSV.

He has not featured at all in the league since a 2-1 loss to Manchester United on December 7, being restricted to three cup appearances since then.

Leipzig confirmed on Friday the defender will spend the remainder of 2019-20 at the Red Bull Arena, and it has been reported they have an option to make the move permanent for €30million (£25m).

AC Milan appear to have hit a significant stumbling block in their efforts to have Rafael Leao sign a new contract. As reported by , the Rossoneri have put an offer of €5 million per season on the forward s table, but he is holding out for €7m.

Milan are believed to have paid just under €30m to sign Leao from LOSC Lille in 2019. Since then, the Portugal international has developed into a highly potent attacker, scoring 34 goals and producing 30 assists in 135 matches in all competitions for the seven-time European champions. The 23-year-old mostly plays on the left, but he can do a good job anywhere across the whole spectrum of attacking positions.

Milan midfielder Ismael Bennacer has signed a new long-term deal with the reigning Serie A champions that runs through until June 2027.

The 25-year-old joined Milan from Empoli in July 2019 and has made 129 appearances for the club.

He has featured in all 24 of the Rossoneri s matches this season – one of only two ever-presents along with Pierre Kalulu.

Bennacer s contract had been due to expire at the end of next season, but Milan technical director Paolo Maldini confirmed this week a new deal was close to being finalised.
